Celebrate Being Alive

There's a silent celebration
For every breath you breathe

I left all I knew
And found a better part of me

Stripped of Self

I stumbled upon (no pun intended) this photo on my friend's tumblr (smleaden.tumblr.com) today and realized that it so aptly embodies a prayer that I have been praying oh so fervently lately: "Jesus, strip me of myself." To my eyes, this piece of artwork is a tangible exemplification of the concept "Dying to self, stripping yourself of your fleshly nature." A very accurate representation of a very misunderstood Biblical truth: regeneration and sanctification.

Assumptions

Time to get something off of my chest. Something that has been particularly and acutely bothering me lately. Women and girls tend to make assumptions. Everyone makes assumptions. But females specifically seem to be under the impression that they know exactly what's going to happen in the future...when no one knows that for sure. They always refer to their future by saying WHEN they get married and WHEN they have kids. Not IF's, never if's, of course. We need to realize that yes, most people were meant for marriage and a family. Yes, it is a plausible option and sometimes the more likely one. That does not change the fact that it could also not happen. The point is we do not know and women need to sever this presumptuous outlook and just walk by the Spirit. There is nothing wrong with hopefully looking forward to a husband and a family someday. But do not try to swim in the uncharted waters of predicting our unpredictable God and His plans.

Song for the Broken: The Wedding

Don’t give up on the hope
That keeps you breathing
Cause after all is said and done
It’s all your lonely heart has

So look forward to your day of liberation
When you can stop grieving

So how much would it cost for you to gain everything
Everything you lost deserved to be gone anyway
So don’t give up, yeah, don’t give in
To the world around you that pressures you
To give up the fight, roll over and die
Forget the way you were

So how much pain could you take
before you gave up
would you throw it all away
would you fight for that one day
when you heard your Savior say
when you heard your Savior say
my child I always knew you'd make it home
so walk through those gates of gold and claim your throne

So I wait for you to save me
So I wait for you to save me
Still I wait for you

To lift me off my feet and
Still I wait for you in the dark of the night
(Still I wait for you to save me)
Cause I won’t give up the fight
(Still I wait for you to save me)
Still I wait for you in the dark of the night
(Still I wait for you to save me)

Still I wait for you, again
Still I wait for you, again
Cause in the dark of the night is where you’ll find me
Head held in my hands is where,
Still I wait for you

Don't give up on the hope
That keeps you breathing
Casue after all is said and done
(So I wait for you to save me)
It's all your lonely heart has
(So I wait for you to save me

Aesthetically Pleasing

Here are some photos that I've accumulated over time from various places; many of them are from other people's blogs & pages, some I discovered on the internet, some I found in art class. Enjoy.
